Electrical Safety Audit
Electrical safety audit helps to take preventive measures to avoid electrical hazards, financial loss and human loss. Over 40% fire accidents happens due to fault in electrical circuit, electrical system is a threat in the form of shocks, burns, injury, fire and explosion.
Our certified accredited auditors assist in reducing risk of electrical faults and fire hazards through proper identification of faults and losses in the ongoing system. We ensure the system is working in compliance with applicable safety standards and regulations.
Lightning Protection System Audit (Inspection & Testing)
This assessment analyzes the lightning protection system to be installed at the site and its capacity to handle lighting strikes by Determine proper surge protection devices and lightning arresters required for the site as per IS 2309: 1989 , IEC 62305-2, NFPA 780, IEEE 998
Lightning Protection Risk Assessment
This assessment analyses the lightning protection system to be installed at site and its capacity to handle lighting strikes by determining proper surge protection devices and lightning terminals required for the site as per IS 2309: 1989 , IEC 62305-2, NFPA 780 , IEEE 998
Our lightning risk assessment and lightning protection plan includes:
-
A review of the existing lightning protection system against national standards. An assessment
of the risk of lightning strikes to people, buildings and equipment at the facility.
-
Calculation of risk and a determination of whether a lightning protection system is needed.
-
A description of the proposed lightning protection system including:
- A list of the proposed system, surge protection devices and accessories with a detailed bill of material.
- The location of the systems to be installed.
-
Protection level selection
-
Protection device definition
Lightning Protection Installation, Testing & Commissioning
The testing and inspection of earthing and lightning protection systems should be in accordance with the following codes of practice: IS 3043, IS 2309: 1989 (Reaffirmed 2005), IEC 62305 parts 1, 2, 3 and 4, NF C 17-102
The following aspects of an ESE System installation should be inspected (see NF C 17-102 September 2011 edition pagraph 8)
Soil Resistivity Test
For Safe and cost effective electrical grounding design Wenner 4-point Soil Resistivity Testing Method is performed. With the correct soil resistivity information, we can build a safe and cost effective electrical grounding design.
A proper soil resistivity test can also save valuable time and money. It takes the guesswork out of the construction and design process and always gives a predictable outcome.
Lightning Protection System Designing
Lightning protection system design includes external/structural protection from direct effect of
lightning and internal/ power line/ data line protection from indirect effect of lightning. We provide a complete system of strike termination devices, conductors, grounding electrodes, interconnecting conductors, surge protective devices, connectors or fittings.
External Lightning protection System Design
-
Air Terminal Placement using the standard grid placement scheme.
-
Rolling Sphere Design.
-
Protective angle Method.
-
Mesh Method
Internal Lightning Protection System Design
-
To limit the amplitude of surges due to lightning strike in the neighbourhood of the structure, due to switching phenomena or due to industrial commutations by diverting surge currents,
-
and limiting transient over voltages, Surge Protection Devices (SPD) are the only efficient
solution.
-
Provide the lowest residual voltage as possible.
Provide a discharge capacity adapted to real risks.
-
Avoid disturbances of operation for equipment.
Annual Comprehensive Maintenance
Rules /Code regarding Earthing: Code: 34.1 of Indian Standard Code of Practice for Earthing
(IS: 3043:1987) says:
It is recommended that periodical check tests all earth electrodes should be carried out. Records should be maintained of such checks.
To GM Patna
Rule: 67 / 5-B of The Indian Electricity Rule' 1956 says:
Every Earthing system belonging to either the supplier or the consumer shall be tested for its resistance to earth on a dry day during dry season not less than once a year.
Earthing System Designing
Electrical Grounding (Earthing) System Design
The objective of earthing design is to carry out the following:
-
Sizing of earthing conductors
-
Earthing system resistance calculation and determine number of earthing electrodes required.
-
Preparation of earthing layout
-
Estimation of total quantity of earthing materials
-
Prepare Bill of material BOM or BOQ
Following parameters have worked out for system design:
-
Earth resistivity of the site
-
Fault current calculation results
-
Details about the regulation
-
Select the material of earthing conductor
-
Earthing conductor Sizing
-
Layout of the industry/Site/Plant
-
Type of source earthing to be used
-
Resistance of earthing system to be achieved
